ALMOST THERE...

Lately, I feel like Spirit hasn't been giving me any options. Over the past few weeks, I've gotten no's and yes's. A job I was hoping for didn't work out. However the same week, I got my first wholesale order out of state. The path I need to take is so clear that I can't question it anymore.

I haven't been allowed to be sad or sulk about things that would've had me down for days. The encouraging phone calls and conversations from people who believe in me and see how much work I've put into this business is what has been fueling me. Just thinking about it could bring me to tears because it's almost unbelievable.

I always have what I need.

I chose the 9 of wands for the picture on this blog post because I can feel the turn of events happening in this energy. 9 of Wands is about perseverance. It doesn't matter how many times, you've tried. All it takes is one time for you to win, and it all will be worth it. People give up on their dreams too fast for me. I've personally seen too much death to turn around and live my life for someone else. I'm going to live my life to the fullest.

This success is personal.

Taking the less-beaten path will never make sense to sheep and I'm okay with that.

WE'RE MAKING A PLEDGE...

Social impact is a founding pillar of our brand. As many of you know, Rootin' For You started solely as a doula business. We, then, branched towards holistic self-care and added the spiritual aspect. We're personally aiming to have a positive impact on the black community by offering our talents and knowledge. Labor Braids is an initiative we started in hopes of alleviating hair-related concerns for expecting mothers in the Black community. As a doula, I've had to hold hair out of the way, wrap hair in scarves, and even pack extra bonnets in my doula bag for moms-to-be. With this initiative, we are traveling and providing medium to large knotless braids to mothers in their third trimester. Our Tingling Hair Mist and Rosemary Hair Oil will also be used, at the discretion of the mother. Postpartum recovery should be about rest and bonding with the new family member, not worrying about your appearance or hair loss.

We're also launching a community-driven platform called Ask A Doula . This project will empower mothers to seek expert advice and guidance. It's free of charge and everything is right at your fingertips. We're inviting mothers to submit their questions on our website and we'll answer the questions every week. The founder will dedicate time to address these inquiries, offering valuable insights and support to help mothers navigate the journey of motherhood with confidence and knowledge. This is a safe space. Everything will be confidential, of course.

I drank the koolaid...

I intended to write this post last night but couldn't keep my eyes open after 2 nights of looking at 3 AM. So here I am, first thing in the morning, writing this at 8:30 AM Friday...

Last night I did something, I feel like I should've done a long time ago. Better late than never I guess.

I recorded my first GRWM using my self-care products! I get awkward in front of cameras, so I usually record things that require me to stay out of sight.

How can I continue to do that when I'm selling beauty products?! I had to come out of my comfort zone and show the people how I'm intentional with my beauty routine. I can write all the pretty captions and post all of the pretty pictures but some people need demonstrations.

Tonight, I'll be posting the edited video around 6:30 with links to all of the products used. I'm actually excited to see the response!

I can tell you right now this is the first of many demonstrations. My editing game has gotten leaps and bounds better since I started this summer. So I feel like I can make anything look good ��.

Side Note: It's amazing how much you can learn on your own if you're willing.

put it out into the universe and let it float...

I was always told, in a nonverbal way, that I wasn't a good writer. My papers would always come back marked up in red ink. Teachers always had something to say... Naturally, I gravitated towards math and science. There was no debating an answer there. It's all facts no opinion.

I feel like in some inadvertent way, this kept me from putting pencil to paper in my adult years. I have about 6 journals now and I'm constantly using the notes in my phone. I guess I'm trying to say fuck you to the standardized education system.

My writing is healing.
